That was Erin who had just put a film on the view box, calling across the OP waiting area to our P.A. student.

"What's wrong with this patient?", Erin asked as Hannah stepped up to the view box, with me following closely.
After careful scrutiny of the x-ray, Hannah got it right!
Hey, how do you treat midshaft humerus fractures? Do you sling them, or hanging cast?
ReplyDeleteWithout the forearm fx, you can do it either way. But since she needed to have her forearm immobilized, they did long-arm cast. The humerus wasn't much displaced, so reduction wasn't a big issue.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I was thinking of the other story when I answered this. I don't know how this one was treated. It was Erin's case.
